As part of a broader evaluation effort, the utilization of focus groups, consisting of patrons receiving services and supports at each of the project’s family resource centers, was conducted.
Although initially identified as “focus groups” within the evaluation plan, the phrase “patron feedback groups” was utilized in an effort to better reflect the engaging and inviting nature of this process.
In 2023, 8 Patron Feedback Groups were conducted in 4 of our Family Resource Centers (2 groups per site), asking nine specific questions related to the fidelity of services and supports to the protective factor model.

Additionally, as part of the process evaluation, the utilization of a Columbia Family Resource Center (CFRC) feedback group was proposed to explore the extent of RCAC activities, engagement, and responsiveness to implementation, organization, and patron needs. The RCAC was established to assist with identifying the services and programming offered at the NorthStar Family Resource Center (our expansion site), helping us to ensure responsiveness to the community’s strengths and needs.
