As a Permanency Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in supporting at-risk children and families by facilitating multi-disciplinary and permanency staffings, ensuring quality services, and driving positive outcomes for children in need of stability and permanency. This position is perfect for professionals who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and are committed to child welfare excellence.

Partnership for Strong Families (PSF) is seeking a Permanency Specialist for our Gainesville office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as a Practice Expert, coordinating and facilitating staffings to achieve timely and safe permanency for children.
  • Provide leadership, consultation, and policy development to maintain consistency in child welfare services.
  • Develop court reports summarizing staffing outcomes, including cases of consensus and disagreement.
  • Use conflict resolution and collaborative problem-solving to mediate disagreements.
  • Ensure compliance with child welfare laws, policies, and confidentiality standards.
  • Build strong partnerships with community organizations, legal professionals, and families.
  • Document staffing outcomes in the Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) system.

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or comparable related field, Master’s Degree preferred.

Special Qualifications: A valid Florida driver’s license and experience in case management, service coordination and child welfare and/or working with at risk families and children with significant emotional and behavioral needs and their families preferred. Certified as a Child Protection Professional (CPP) or CPP eligible.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with active listening capabilities.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution, mediation, and redirection.
  • Highly detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Strong ability to assess situations and make informed decisions.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in child welfare practices and principles.
  • Management experience in child welfare or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrates excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative and inclusive, fostering team cohesion while maintaining an open mindset.

Salary Range: $22.49 to $23.61 an hour
