Chukwugunyerem, 17

Chukwugunyerem, also known as Chuckey, is a gentle and thoughtful 17-year-old patiently waiting for an adoptive family. He exudes qualities of respect, generosity, and kindness, finding fulfillment in lending a helping hand to others whenever possible. Chuckey’s passion for baseball runs deep, with the Red Sox holding a special place in his heart. He dreams of the chance to one day play the sport he loves or attend a live game. A sports enthusiast through and through, Chuckey’s allegiance extends to other teams such as the Gators, Patriots, Chiefs, Celtics, and Dolphins. Alongside his love for sports, he possesses a keen interest in technology, particularly in the realms of computer programming and coding. Expressing aspirations to pursue higher education at the University of Florida, he aims for a future in computer software management or IT support. Additionally, he has also expressed interest in serving his community as a police officer, further embodying his helpful spirit of dedication and service. Chuckey’s ideal day is characterized by quiet solitude, leisurely naps, and the excitement of a baseball game. When it comes to food, his favorite dishes are pizza and ribs, or anything featuring pork or chicken. His favorite music genres are hip-hop and gospel.

Though his roots are in Gainesville, Chuckey remains open to the prospect of relocating elsewhere, provided he finds a nurturing family environment. While he envisions a family dynamic that includes other children, he is equally comfortable being the sole focus of familial attention. With his blend of kindness, ambition, and interests, Chuckey is certain to bring joy and depth to the lives of those who welcome him into their home.

Child abuse is preventable
We can help change the lives of many children and teens.

A hallmark of PSF’s system of care is our belief that child abuse is preventable. We have found that by providing resources and supports to families in need on the front end, many can avoid reaching the crises that lead to formal child welfare involvement functions.
