We are seeking an Eligibility Specialist I – GAP.  This position is responsible for to determining the eligibility for federal subsidy for emergency shelter and foster care placements. This position is committed to accountability using outcomes to measure performance and improving practice. This position will identify and understand what resources are available and build and maintain effective working relationships with a network of systems, both internal and external. This position provides technical assistance and training to case managers on all aspects of funding issues. This position, within the Finance department, reports to the Eligibility Supervisor.

Starting Salary: $15.75 hr. ($32,760) to $20.48 hr. ($42,588).

Location: Gainesville, Florida

The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and have knowledge and experience with other systems such as Suntax, Integrate, FL Medicaid, FSFN, FLCCIS and DCF ACCESS FLORIDA. The ideal candidate will have experience in reviewing legal documents and being able to read document wording to determine eligibility. The ideal candidate will be a team player and someone who cares about making a difference.

Minimum Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One year experience in making eligibility determination decisions or related work.
  • Related experience may be substituted for the required college education.
