Cooking Matters
The University of Florida Tri-Counties Agriculture Extension Offices offers nutritional programming designed to demonstrate how to make healthy shopping and recipe choices using SNAP benefits. This quarterly program offers food demonstrations that focus on a monthly theme, and participants are able to win grocery store door prizes for participation.

Childbirth Education
Taught by certified childbirth educators, this seven-week class offers participants education and information about the labor and delivery process, managing pain during childbirth, breastfeeding, newborn care and much more! There is no charge for the program, however, pre-registration is required.

Adult Mental Health
Counseling offered by Meridian Behavioral Health. A licensed mental health counselor is on-site every Wednesday, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., to conduct outreach, intakes and counseling sessions with clients.

Children’s Mental Health
CDS offers family and individual counseling, specifically designed to assist families challenged with parenting difficult youth. Counselors work with the family and youth, free of charge, to create a better, less stressful living situation for all involved.

Health Programs
Several times each month, with the help of providers like Palms Medical Group and Haven Hospice, TCCRC hosts free health screenings, such as Blood Pressure Checks and Diabetes Screenings. Additionally, Ayers Rehab conducts quarterly seminars on “Recognizing Dementia in Loved Ones,” Haven Hospice offers monthly “5 Wishes” end-of-life planning sessions, free of charge to participants, and the Tri-County Health Department conducts quarterly seminars at the center on a variety of health topics, such as diabetes management and more.

Financial Literacy
Offered by Suncoast Credit Union, this monthly seminar gives participants the opportunity to learn about how to make a budget, manage their finances and make good fiscal choices.

Afternoons Out
This summer program, free to children grades K-5, is sponsored by Meridian and offers parents/caregivers an opportunity to have some free (and quiet) time while they drop their children off at the center for an afternoon, one day each week during June and July. Children in the program will participate in games, crafts, story time and snack time, all free of charge. This program is limited to 10 children per week, therefore pre-registration is required.
