Florida Bridgewater-Alford
Florida Bridgewater-Alford manages various aspects of the Public Relations and Branding initiative for the University of Florida, the school from which she earned her degree. She serves as chairman of two subcommittees for the University of Florida Community Campaign, which has raised more than $11 million for charitable organizations.
She is a member of several civic organizations including the Sunrise Rotary Club of Gainesville, the National Association of Black Journalists and the Florida Public Relations Association. She is currently the vice president of the charitable Twenty Pearls Foundation.
Ms. Bridgewater-Alford currently serves on the College Park /University Heights Gainesville Redevelopment Advisory Board, the Gateway Girl Scouts Board of Directors, the Reichert House Advisory Board and the Santa Fe College Blount Center Advisory Board. She is also the secretary/fiscal compliance advisor for the American Cancer Society Board of Directors.
Ms. Bridgewater-Alford received the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce 2009 Chairman’s Award for her work on the Chamber’s Education Task Force, and is a three-time winner of the Outstanding Advisor Award, NPHC from the University of Florida.
