About Us
In response to the challenges and opportunities of the transition to community based care, a group of local providers - Children's Home Society, Family Preservation Services and Meridian Behavioral Healthcare - pooled their collective resources and expertise, and developed a new non-profit agency, Partnership for Strong Families, Inc. (a.k.a. Community Based Care of Mid-Florida) A Start-up contract between the Department of Children and Families and Partnership for Strong Families (PFSF) was signed on June 29, 2003.
During the Start-up contract PFSF will develop the infrastructure necessary to transition child welfare services from the Department of Children and Families District 3 (Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Putnam, Suwannee, and, Union Counties).
